Athanor is a solo journalling game about setting sail on a great voyage and leaving your old life behind. Over the course of one year, you will face five trials, and overcome each of them as you change and grow.

The game features:

  • Flame-based gameplay
  • Death-defying coin flips
  • Reflective journaling
  • 11 pages of nautical prose
  • No, really, you have to use fire to play, that wasn't a joke

The game can be played in the span of two hours, or even less time, depending on how you decide to work through the prompts.

Athanor was originally written by Sylvan Lawrence for the 24-hour "Metamorphosis" game jam on the Clawhammer Games community Discord server (which you can join here).

I haven't finished my playthrough yet but I really like the prompts so far! I will say I wish there was a better way to do the timed prompts though because my matches don't give me enough time to write down a single sentence most of the time.

i really dig this, and i adore the graphic design! hope i get to play it soon!
